The firmware of DJI Mavic 3 was updated on January 24, 2022, delivering big boosts to both the camera performance and user experience. Panorama delivers clearer images, ActiveTrack 5.0 now supports zoom, and MasterShots and QuickShots are now available! DJI has also optimized data transfers and RTH performance based on user surveys to help you fully release your creativity whenever and wherever you fly.
DJI Mavic 3: More Powerful Imaging for Cinematic Footage
Panorama, ActiveTrack 5.0, and MasterShots are now supported, delivering more creative options with more powerful features. Ready to make your aerial footage really stand out?
Sharper Panorama
Mavic 3 now supports panorama! Wide-angle, 180°, and Sphere – three panorama modes offer more creative possibilities with higher resolutions. Wondering how to choose a highlight when the entire view is breathtaking? Don’t choose! Have it all with panorama.
QuickShots are Here
QuickShots are also available with this update. With one tap, Mavic 3 automatically performs professional camera movements like Dronie, Helix, Rocket, Circle, boomerang, and Asteroid to deliver stunning footage. Shoot like a pro, even if it’s your first time flying.
Precision Shooting with Digital Zoom
“Only Explore mode supports zoom, but it’s too complicated and not clear enough.”
Guess what? Updates to Mavic 3 can now take care of that. Mavic 3 now supports 2x digital zoom in normal video mode. Shooting becomes more efficient, unlocking even more creative possibilities.
ActiveTrack 5.0 – Not Just for Tracking
Not satisfied with the automatic operation of ActiveTrack 5.0? Now you can enjoy even more creative freedom. ActiveTrack 5.0 supports 1x to 2x manual zoom during video recording. Enable zoom when following your subject to inject a more dynamic feel to your footage.
ActiveTrack 5.0 also supports the D-Log color profile to capture up to 1 billion colors with more details retained for greater flexibility in post-production. From gradient sunsets to the light changes from day to night, the scenery can be captured with ultra-rich color details.
Updated MasterShots Makes You a Master
MasterShots support 4K/60fps video recording to capture truly unmatched aerial footage. The update additionally supports manual exposure adjustment. Fine-tuning plus professional camera movements bring your creations to a whole new level.
Hyperlapse for Stunning Footage
Hyperlapse videos are created by shooting and combining numerous photos, but these photos are often cropped in order to reduce shakes and jitter in the final video clip. With this update, DJI has reduced the crop margins from 20% down to 10%, increasing the final size and FOV to deliver even better footage.
In addition, Mavic 3 has these upgrades to imaging performance:
Burst shooting is added.
D-Log color assistance is added.
Sharper images from the Tele lens when taking photos at high magnification.
DJI Mavic 3: Upgraded Experience
Mavic 3 now supports QuickTransfer, USB Mode, and improved RTH settings for a more carefree and enjoyable flight experience.
Quality Content Transferred with a Single Tap
Mavic 3 now supports QuickTransfer! With Wi-Fi 6, download speeds can reach up to 80MB/s. A 1GB 4K video can be transferred in just 30 seconds.
USB Mode for Energy-Saving Transfers
Mavic 3 Cine supports USB mode for data transfers, saving more battery for more creation. Simply launch the SSD system and the aircraft will transfer data in low-energy consumption mode. No more worrying about powering off during data transfers or having to try them multiple times.
RTH is All Up to You
Mavic 3 now supports RTH path setting. You can make the aircraft return automatically or set RTH altitude manually. Automatic RTH is efficient and convenient, and manual setting of RTH improves flight safety by making the aircraft fly to the altitude you set over the home point and then land in order to avoid obstacles. More efficiency for more secured flight is now in your hands.
Mavic 3 also has these upgrades to the flight experience:
DJI RC Pro supports HD output via HDMI.
Added support for DJI RC Pro to cache video and download original videos to an external SD card.
DJI RC Pro is now compatible with DJI Air 2S.
Fixed other known issues.
